Munich Agreement in 1938 - an agreement, drawn up in Munich, September 29, 1938 and signed by September 30 of that year, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, French Prime Minister Edouard Daladier, the German Chancellor Adolf Hitler and Italian Prime Minister Benito Mussolini. The agreement concerned the transfer of the Sudetenland by Czechoslovakia Germany. Czechoslovak representatives were not allowed to discuss the agreement. The Soviet Union refused to participate in the meeting.
Seizure of the Sudetenland was only the beginning of the process of dismemberment of Czechoslovakia and unsuccessful attempt to appease Nazi Germany.
